Mourning & Grief

Almighty God, in Your mercy I entrust to You (name), who is carrying the heavy burden of grief. Look with compassion upon their sorrow, and draw them close to Your Sacred Heart, where all wounds find refuge and healing.

Grant me the grace to be an instrument of Your consolation. Help me to listen with patience, to speak with charity, and to remain present with a heart shaped by love. May my words and actions reflect Your tenderness, so that (name) may sense Your nearness even in the depths of pain.

Lord Jesus, You wept at the tomb of Lazarus. Walk beside (name) in this valley of sorrow. Let Your healing grace penetrate every wound of the heart, bringing peace where there is anguish and hope where there is loss.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted, enfold (name) in Your mercy and sustain them on this difficult journey, until the day when every tear is wiped away and all things are restored in You.

I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, in the midst of my grief, do not allow my sorrow to overwhelm my heart. When waves of sadness, confusion, and loneliness rise within me, hold me close and shelter me in Your mercy.

In moments when the pain feels heavy and unrelenting, grant me patience and the quiet assurance that You are near. Speak peace to my troubled heart, and help me to trust that Your healing is at work, even when I cannot yet see it.

When my heart feels weighed down by loss, teach me to place this grief at the foot of the Cross of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Unite my tears to His suffering, and draw from His Sacred Heart the strength to endure this hour.

Through the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, help me to carry this sorrow with faith, offering it in union with Christ for the good of souls, according to Your holy will.

Purify my heart through this trial, deepen my trust in You, and lead me gently toward hope, until the day You wipe away every tear and gather Your children into eternal joy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
